What is stm8 used for?

Although it is an internal Harvard architecture, it has a unified 24-bit address space that allows code to execute in RAM (useful for in-system programming of the flash ROM) and data (such as lookup tables) to be accessed in ROM.

How do I start stm8?

Open ST Visual Programmer (STVP), which should have been installed alongside STVD, to upload the program. Then, in the configuration window, make the selection shown below and click OK. Then select File->Open and navigate to the S19 file that we previously displayed. Then, in order to flash the device, go to Program -> Current Tab.
