RISC-V, which is pronounced "risk-five," is an ISA based on reduced instruction set computer (RISC) concepts. Unlike most other ISA designs, it is distributed under an open-source license with no licensing fees.
High-end applications that employ RISC include video processing, telecommunications, and image processing. Security systems, home automation, and other low-end applications employ CISC.
Because of their basic architecture, RISC computers can be created more quickly than CISC CPUs. When compared to CISC processors, the execution of instructions in RISC processors is faster due to the usage of multiple registers for holding and forwarding instructions.
