32-bit means that a microprocessor can execute 4 bytes of data in one instruction cycle while 64-bit means that a microprocessor can execute 8 bytes of data in one instruction cycle. Since microprocessor needs to talk to other parts of computer to get and send data i.e. memory, data bus and video controller etc.
32-bit microcontrollers have a 32-bit address bus which provides access to up to 4 gigabytes (Gbytes) of memory. Traditional 16-bit microcontrollers have had 16 bits of addressing that can only access 64 kilobytes (Kbytes).
The answer is YES. Most of the software which are 32 bit will run just fine on a 64Bit “Computer”. This is possible because of WoW64 which is available on Windows OS.
