Seagate
Seagate Technology, established in 1979, is a leader in data storage solutions. Originally Shugart Technology, it changed its name to Seagate to avoid legal conflicts. Known for the innovative ST-506, the first 5.25-inch hard disk drive, Seagate's strategic acquisitions and product advancements have continually shaped the industry. Key milestones include launching the high-speed Barracuda HDD in 1991 and the Cheetah 4LP, the first 10,000 RPM drive. Under CEO Steve Luczo, the late 1990s restructuring focused on technology investment and business diversification.
