Fagor

Fagor Electrodom茅stico was a prominent domestic and commercial appliance manufacturer based in the Basque Country, Spain, and was part of the Mondragon Corporation, the world's largest workers' cooperative. Founded in 1956, Fagor was Spain's largest consumer appliance company and the fifth largest electrical appliance company in Europe, producing a wide range of household appliances including washing machines, refrigerators, and ovens. The company's unique cooperative structure, where employees were initially encouraged to adopt a cooperative mindset, eventually led to issues such as preferential hiring of relatives and the implementation of Taylorist methods, which contributed to its decline. Despite its international expansion and significant market presence, Fagor faced financial difficulties, particularly during the European financial crisis, and ultimately filed for bankruptcy in 2013. The company's assets were subsequently taken over by various entities, including Cevital in France and CNA Group in Spain.
