Burndy LLC, founded on July 19, 1924, by science historian and civic leader Bern Dibner, is a global manufacturer of connectors, fittings, and tools for electrical utilities, commercial, industrial, and residential contractors. The company, headquartered in Manchester, New Hampshire, has a rich history of innovation, starting with Dr. Dibner's design and patent of a universal connector that enabled a unified grid without soldering or welding. Burndy remained family-owned until 1988 when it was acquired by Framatome Connectors International (FCI), and later became part of the Hubbell Electrical Systems family in 2009.
