What is Bus switch?

A bus switch is a semiconductor device that makes and breaks an electrical connection just like a mechanical switch. The bus switch is just a switch: unlike a buffer, it cannot drive a load.

The demultiplexer refers to the type of combinational circuit that accepts just a single input but directs it through multiple outputs. A Multiplexer performs conversion from parallel to serial.

How does a mux demux work?

The mux combines, or multiplexes, wavelengths on to a fiber. The demux on the other end of the connection splits, or de-multiplexes, the connections. Passive mux and demux components do not require power, simply acting as mirrors to direct light on or off a single fiber.
